To make printed letters read like a thick acrylic sign, push their faces forward and round their edges. Text Extrude adds front-to-back depth, while Bevel Depth rounds the edges. In Blender, adjust Extrude and Bevel Depth under Text Data Properties ▸ Geometry.

In Python, set extrude and bevel_depth on the TextCurve data. bevel_resolution controls how finely the rounded edge is divided. This demo renders the same phrase flat first, then adds extrusion and bevel to show the difference.

Bevel can narrow counters or make neighboring letters touch when strokes are thin or close together. If a letter collapses, reduce bevel_depth before extrude; adjust spacing with space_character when the letters need more room.

When to use

Use it when lettering should catch light and cast shadows, as on a 3D sign, title or dimensional logo. Start with a small bevel on thin strokes and check that counters stay open.
