A Text object is an editable text box placed in a scene. Change its string, alignment and spacing to make titles, signs or simple logos. In Blender, add one with Add ▸ Text and press Tab to edit its contents.

In Python, create text data with bpy.data.curves.new('Label', 'FONT'), set its body string, then create an object with bpy.data.objects.new. Properties such as align_x, size and space_character control placement and type size. This demo renders 'CURVE' centered at size 1.35, then changes the body to 'CURVES' while keeping it centered and increasing its size to 2.0. The camera stays framed to the larger state so the string and size changes remain visible.

Text using an external font needs that font file on the other computer to keep the same appearance. Include the font when handing a project to someone else, or convert the text to a mesh when the final outline needs to be fixed.

When to use

Use it for editable titles, labels and signs in a scene. Convert a copy to a mesh when the outline must be fixed and independent of the font.
