컬렉션

A folder-like group for organizing objects and controlling their visibility together. An object can belong to more than one collection.

A collection is a set of labeled boxes for sorting scene objects. The Outliner shows its hierarchy; use Object ▸ Collection or Object Properties ▸ Collections to move an object or link it into another collection. Collections group objects but do not pass transforms down like parents do.

Create one with bpy.data.collections.new('Props'), then link it into the scene with scene.collection.children.link(collection). Add objects with collection.objects.link(obj), unlinking them from an old collection if they should move. This example creates two collections and switches their render visibility without deleting their objects.

Hiding a collection is different from deleting an object. An object linked to several collections can remain in the scene after it is unlinked from one. The three views show both groups together and then each group hidden in turn.

When to use

Group parts, lights, or backdrops that should be selected or shown together. Use parenting instead when their transforms should follow one another.
